Canon
Canon as always had the same prime location just to the right of the main entrance (Fujifilm on the left). Their stand was a donut shape design with various types of product being displayed / demonstrated in different segments. Behind the main stand there was at least twice as much again of meeting rooms. The biggest buzz at the stand was definitely over the new EOS-D60 and EOS-1D, after this was the updated black bodied G2 and the new A100, A30 and A40. Also demonstrated was Canon's new 4x6" dye-sub printer, the CP-100.

Casio
Casio's stand was pretty similar to last year, several demo points with cameras attached for both hands-on and presented demonstrations. The new camera for Casio was the QV-10 water, shock and dust resistant digital camera. It's a small (hand sized) 1.2 megapixel digital camera with a fixed lens, there was also a cutaway of the camera internals - interestingly none of the internals are screwed to the body but rather 'sit inside' it padded by an internal foam lining. All controls and doors are sealed by O-ring, the case is coated in thick rubber.

ColorVision
ColorVision were back with their latest iteration of the affordable PhotoCal / OptiCal color calibration and profiling tool. Now as well as CRT's the new CRT/LCD version can also be used to calibrated LCD monitors (including notebook displays). As well as suction cups the new version has a second line and weight which is used to 'hang' the Monitor Spyder device over top of LCD displays. Since last year ColorVision has entered into a marketing alliance with Panatone to promote the Monitor Spyder as the affordable solution to monitor / display calibration.

Concord Camera
Just like last year Concord came with a variety of re-badged OEM digital cameras ranging from VGA to 3 megapixel, all with fixed focal length lenses and all but one with fixed focus ('focus free'). Concord are clearly aiming for the very bottom end of the market. My belief is that they're going to find it harder and harder as well known brands come out with even lower priced entry level models and buyers begin to realize you get what you pay for.

Contax / Kyocera
Contax / Kyocera had an attractively designed stand with their full range of products on display. Behind closed doors we got our hands on the new Kyocera S3x and S4 ultra-compact digital cameras. These two models, based on the S3 have a variety of improvements not least of which is the new 3x optical zoom lens (the old lens was the major gripe of my S3 review). The size of the new lens has pushed the viewfinder window up into the corner of the body and the flash into a new pop-up mechanism.
Also available for a hands-on was the long awaited N Digital D-SLR. Weighing in at an expected $7,000 this six megapixel beast (literally, it's surprisingly heavy) looks as though it may well make it to market some time this Summer. The bad news for Contax is that for less than half the price you can pick up one of the new six megapixel D-SLR's from Canon or Nikon.
Contax will argue that you can use your excellent Contax N System lenses (seven total) as well as all eight Contax 645 system lenses using an adapter. Plus this digital SLR is the only one (at this time) with a 1x focal length multiplier (it uses the 36 x 24 mm Philips 6 mp chip). To my mind it's simply 12 to 18 months too late and overpriced.
