Leica

Luxury brand Leica is showing off its high-end film and digital rangefinders and has announced a Euro 1200 upgrade for existing M8 owners. The company says it aims to maintain the value of the camera over its whole lifetime.

The upgrade involves a re-engineered shutter to offer quieter operation and a longer lifespan. The rear screen is also replaced with increadibly scratch-proof Sapphire glass cover, as used in high-end watchglasses. The upgrades which start in August also include a clean, lube and adjust to bring the camera back to as-new condition and a new two-year warranty.

The modular construction of the camera will allow future upgrades, potentially including alterations to the camera's electronics.
