Canon posts new firmware for G1 & Pro90 IS

BeBit has just posted firmware version 1.0.0.2 for the PowerShot G1 and
PowerShot Pro90 IS. This new firmware fixes : "...eliminates the
occasional occurrence of unusual brightness or darkness in the LCD panel
display when the shutter button is pressed halfway in the Tv mode..."
This update can be carried out either via USB or by placing the update
files on a Compact Flash card.

Canon PowerShot G1 v1.0.0.2 firmware
Improvements of previous firmware update included in version 1.0.0.1
- It is no longer necessary to reset the date at the end of the month.
- Correction of an underexposure problem that occurred in low light
conditions when an EX-series Speedlite (220EX / 380EX / 420EX / 550EX)
was mounted on the camera but turned off.
- Speedlites 160E and 200E will now flash when mounted on the PowerShot
G1. But, as they are not EX-series Speedlites, they will fire at full
strength. (Automatic flash exposure with thePowerShot G1 is only possible
using the built-in flash or an EX-series Speedlite.)
- Correction of problem in which initial shutter 'click' sound would
occasionally not emit upon exposure after turning the power on.
What's new in 1.0.0.2?
- In addition to improvements of the firmware update version 1.0.0.1,
the firmware update version 1.0.0.2 eliminates the occasional occurrence
of unusual brightness or darkness in the LCD panel display when the
shutter button is pressed halfway in the Tv mode.
(In case you haven't already updated to 1.0.0.1 this new firmware includes
its fixes too)

Canon PowerShot Pro90 IS v1.0.0.2 firmware
Improvements of previous firmware update included in version 1.0.0.1
- Improved white balance performance when an EX-series SpeedLite (220EX
/ 380EX / 420EX / 550EX) that is turned off is mounted on the camera.
- Improved aperture performance when using Tv (shutter speed priority
AE) mode, permitting aperture settings of up to F2.8 when shooting at
1/800 sec. shutter speed.
