Opinion: Powers off to quickly. I have also had a problem with a poor connection resulting in not being able to turn it on. I had to take the batteries out, clean contacts and replace. Sometimes the power on switch has to be jiggled to get it to turn on.

Problems: Power on switch problems.

Opinion: I've had this camera since it was first released and still use it. I am quite satisfied w/the image quality, and though not a characteristic I was looking for, it's low light sensitivity turned out to be pretty good, and usefull. Maybe a little bulky by current standards, but still small enough to be manageable for carrying around for snapshot purposes. A good amount of manual overide modes gives some flexibility, but navigating the menus is a bit bothersome and makes using the modes difficult. I don't often use them, by the time I switch the modes, the shot may be gone. Battery life is average at best, have to be very consious of turning off LCD to make it last a day. AA's easy to find anywhere, though. I find the auto-power off to be too fast though, I hate the lag waiting for it to power back on. Many times I'll hand it to someone else to take a group shot, and it powers off by the time they are ready to take the shot. The "solar" window for backlighting the LCD works pretty well in bright light. LCD placement doesn't allow for overhead overcrowd viewing. Optical viewfinder a little small and sometimes hard too locate with eye, and indicator led too close and bright to eye. Very distracting, esp. in low light situations. For the price I had paid for it new, it pales in comparision to current cameras, but it is a good solid camera for web images, snapshotting, and hobbyists. My main complaints are menu navigation, too swift power save, lag before shutter actually goes off (common complaint with digicams), and balky switch/connection causing power problems in playback.

Problems: Balky switch/connection, it powers off a lot in playback. Do NOT remove card w/power on.

Opinion: After looking at a number of digital camera models, I chose the 750z and later added the Tiffen Filter adaptor and filter set. I have taken a number of photographs with it and found the quality to be very good. The controls are fairly straightforward and simple to understand. At first, I had some trouble with blurred photos, but found that when I increased the shutter speed to 1/125 sec, the blurs disappeared. I also found this to be one of the most overlooked aspects of the 750z - that the controls for the camera can be adjusted in exposure and functionality from the PC computer interface program provided by Epson on their CDROM.
This is a good first timer's digital camera, and provides good color rendition, in flesh tones, flora colors (greens/yellow, and reds) and has minimal JPEG artifacts. I also found that print quality was very good with minimal need to apply filters for sharpness or color correction. It would be suitable for web page developers, home hobbiests, and general PC users.

Problems: I found the time waiting between pictures to be too long in hi-resolution modes, even with hi-speed compact flash cards. I did find that the lo-rez modes provided faster recycle times, but was diappointed with "quick-recycle" mode provided.
Also, the tripod mount is a bit flimsy.
I also found the technical support to be adequate, but less than supportive for professional issues.
