The budget Fujifilm FinePix J30 ultra-compact sports a 12MP sensor, 2.7 inch LCD and 3x (32-96mm equiv) zoom range, packed inside an unusually thin (20mm) body. It also includes a Panorama mode, ISO sensitivity up to 3200, Face Detection and Auto Scene Recognition.

Opinion: Smaller and more pocketable than I expected, the J30 serves a definite role: It's the camera that I have with me everywhere. It is the size of a mobile phone. The 12 megapixel resolution is helpful ... but only in good light. The battery seems to last pretty long once fully charged. You buy this camera for one reason: Portability.
Problems: In low light the image is very noisy.
The LCD display's image includes some aberration on the left edge and there's one bad pixel.
