Opinion: Well I will keep this short. I replaced this camera with a Canon A570 IS which kicks the HP M407 in the dirt. I gave the camera to my 9 & 8 year old to mess with. All the stuff is crap about this poor excuse for a camera. If you like changing batteries every 5 shots then get this camera. IF using lithium batteries you might get closer to 50 shots. With the expense of lithium batteries though, after 15 packs you exceeded the cost of this camera. So go buy a Canon. I got into Canon by buying the PixmaMP500, so naturally I looked into the Canon series of cameras and the A570 IS took the cake. I will never ever buy a HP camera again! Let their cameras tank with the stock market!!

Problems: Well, let's see.... how about after owning the camera a few months it was already showing signs of problems in the image dept. The video capture is worse than anything I have ever seen. Want some noise and graininess with your pic? Then again, this IS the camera! You want to miss the moment and wait an eternity for your flash to charge back up? This is your camera!

Opinion: I have been using this camera since 2004. If I only used it for outdoors, perfect light at the right distance (not having to use any zoom) it would be a good camera. But the quality of most of the pictures is average at best. I can't even use the zoom because the pictures are terrible. I am upgrading this Christmas (FINALLY) to an SRL-like and I am so excited to take some good photos! HP is GREAT, though, with customer service. I had a problem with my first one (about two weeks after getting it) and they sent me a brand new one at no charge. That was great.

Problems: Poor zoom (but to be expected with on a 3x optical zoom). Grainy pics.

Opinion: I had this camera for a year and still have it. I like it better than M525 because when using 64 MB SD card, it takes more than750 and 215MB SD more than 1200.
I formatted the camera and it went from 6 pics to 85 pics which is good.
I'd recommend this for you if you are looking for HP Photosmart M series
I like it so much that I took a lot of pics..easy to load into computer and HP Premier to adjust and crop etc...

Problems: No problems for me at all...sometimes have to adjust the darkness/brightness in not-so-bright inside places.

Opinion: This was my first digital camera, and at first I loved it. But when the honeymoon was over, I saw the problems with it. Some pictures look great, but many are too dark or blurry.

I've lost some great pictures that were never captured correctly by the camera. I can see them on the screen, but no software can import the image to the computer. I've tried Windows wizard, Adobe Elements, and HP's Image Zone.

The largest frustration is batteries. I KNOW all digitals are tough on batteries, but even Duracell rechargable NiMH batteries only get me 20-30 pics. I carry 6 spares in the case everywhere I go. Trying to upload a lot of pics via USB cable is impossible, as the batteries will die before upload is complete.

I love HP printers, but I will never buy another HP camera as long as I live.

Problems: Video quality poor.

Flash weak.

Shutter lag and time between shots are both brutally bad.

This is actually a package of FRUSTRATION disguised as a camera.

Opinion: This camera is cruddy. It's not worth a dime. I have some experience with digital cameras but I don't think I'm that great with them. Even so, I could easily find that this camera is of more use to a consumer in the trash than in his/her hands. I don't know what HP was thinking putting this camera on the market.

Problems: Far too many:
1. Poor image quality. It is only even mediocre when the flash is used.
2. It takes forever to load.
3. Batteries die faster than you can say "Batteries Depleted".
4. Poor design.
5. Overall it's too expensive for the quality provided, don't waste time, money, or brain cells on this camera.

Opinion: STAY AWAY FROM THIS CAMERA!!!
This is absolutely the worst camera I have ever encountered. Pure garbage. Construction is awful. The picture quality is terrible. The 4 megapixel is worse than the 2 megapixel. I got a low price from buy.com $107.00, actuall $25.00 would have been too much. I would suggest, if you order this camera, throw it out right away, at least you will not get frustrated.

Problems: 1. Many times it only takes half a picture, the bottom half of the picture is solid gray.
2. The self timer, when taking two pictures, sits there and blinks, saying charging flash, but it never stops and never takes the picture.
3. Eats up batteries like they are fast food, even the rechargeable last a short time.
4. Tried to return it and I had to send multiple emails to HP, they kept stalling and finally told me I was out of the 30 day return limit, actually I waited a total of five days for them.
5. I threw the camera in the trash, I would also suggest an unmarked grave.
6. HP should stick with scanners and printers. I know Canon makes the printer engine!!!
7. The camera sounds are so low you cannot tell when you take the picture.

Opinion: Really bad buy, at least for me. On paper this looks like an excellent camera for the price. But the image quality is pathetic, almost comparable to my Sony Ericsson camera phone.

Problems: Image is very grainy and have a lot of color drop. I have tried this on the highest resolution using brand new fully charged batteries, switching ISO modes, altering the EV compensation, etc. My Nikon 3.2 MP camera took far better pictures (before it was stolen :().
I for one will NEVER recommend a HP digital camera, they should stick with printers.
