Opinion: Bought this for my mother who is 72. What more can you ask for $110 CDN!!!

It sure is not as good as the Cannon EOS 30D I own for myself! But guys!, for a hundred box, you get a 5Mpix camera with 3x optical zoom!

Good enough for the occasional snapshot. The camera even has a pictbridge so my mom connects it directly to her printer and press the Print button on the camera! Totally fool proof!

I'm very happy for the price, and so is she!

Problems: The lens does show strong distorsion in small distances (less than 3ft), beware!

Opinion: An older relative of mine bought a HP M425 as his first digital camera.

After using it the first thing that i noticed was the build of the camera, it is well built and finished. The outside case is made from metal which can be heavy but doesn't look cheap and gives the camera a good finish. Most cameras on the market are made from cheap plastic. The image quality was alright for taking holiday and family snaps but not to good under poor lighting conditions. A good thing about this camera is that it comes with a battery and charger unlike a lot of cameras on the market. This camera is alright for a first digital camera, but i wouldn't recommend HP for much more.

Problems: Image quality under poor light.
Screen is a bit too small.

Opinion: Not necessary to buy HP cameras. They had good picture quality in the past because of the lens was Pentax. Still I use and get very good results from my very old photosmart 735, because lens is Pentax. After I used 425, I understood the lens is very important in photography. HP did not create good lens and the cameras are useless without lens..!

Problems: Camera has light undertanding problem.. one example of many is: in shadows you need flash but on that time u use the back ground. This cameras works by no lens !
