Opinion: This is a quite good digital camera of old ages, nice picutres and quite easy of use.

Problems: The body weight seems to be a bit heavy than nowaday's digital camera. besides, it's sensor is very slow, I have to wait for about 15~20 seconds to take another shot.

Opinion: My first digital camera. I have been very pleased with its performance and have shot several hundred photos. 8x10s are sub-optimal. I have lost too many photo opportunities waiting for the camera to get ready after a shot. Being able to shoot rapidly will be a major factor in my next digital camera.

Problems: CF cards need to be reformatted in the card reader before reuse.

Opinion: This was my first digital camera and is outstanding in many ways: image quality, color, long exposures, etc.. The only faults I have is that it has too slow a shutter speed for action photos, the processing time was a bit slow, and the viewfinder collects stuff on the inside. I have taken about 8000 photos and still use it for point and shoot situations. Good job Kodak!

Opinion: I must say that this camera was great in its time. I have shot the world with this camera. Over 17,000 pictures from all over the globe. I have shot backstage at concerts for websites, and other areas around the world. Even today I see people shooting pix for websites and their camera's do not even come close to the result of the DC260.

I often would print out the pictures I wanted using a HP Deskjet 932c with high grade photo paper. The DC260 would take a wonderful picture with vivid colors for output to a photo size of no more then a 5x7. Most pictures I printed out were no bigger then a 4x6 to get away from jagges.

This camera was the best choice I could have made at the time. It is time to retire the camera as I am moving to the Oly E-20.

Kodak you did a great job with this one!

Problems: The only one problem would be a lock-up here and there (about 12 in the camera's lifetime), but that was due to the preprogrammed script I had installed to bring up my favorite settings when booted. The DC260 was really a mini computer that one could even play pac-man on.. From pictures to preprogrammed scripts this camera was simply one of the best.

Some have brought up how slow the boot time and also the storage time of this camera could be when first introduced. Well this was a frustration that one gets used to using digital cameras. Its funny how the boot times and storage times between pictures really has not changed that much from the time the DC260 came out and the intro of new cameras today. I have heard even the E-20 does not have a big enough buffer.

After using the DC260 that load and storage time should not be that big of deal. I know technology to well to get bent out of shape about something as inconsequential as that. As long as the end result is a crisp picture the other stuff really does not matter.

Opinion: It was one of the best available 3 or so years ago. It takes great pictures.
But if there was one word I would use to describe the DC260 it's SLOW.

Problems: I have had repeated problems with foreign material working its way into
the optical viewfinder in spite of my great care in keeping the camera
protected.

Opinion: Had this camera for around 2 years (DC265) and it never gave me a problem with locking up or lost images(2000+) Like others have mentioned it lacks color in low light conditions but for the casual user it's a very nice camera. What I liked most was the menu screen, very easy to use and the software was good and simple. I've since upgraded to a Canon G2 but still use the Kodak software for album management. If you find this camera for a good price buy it, you won't be dissappointed.

Problems: slow shutter response, and power up

Opinion: I purchased the Kodak DC260 a couple of years ago with the panoramic package and tripod head for 360 degree photography. That works great as do most all outdoor shots.

Indoor use has taken me nearly a year to get correct and even still, the poor low light quality (even outdoors at times) creates problems that can not be compensated for. I do a lot of shooting of my daughter's indoor basketball games, and have mixed success with this camera.

I also purchased the lens kit. The wide angle lens gives some incredible shots and the 2x optional zoom also works great. The macro lenses I've only used a couple of times.

This is/was a great camera for its day. It has never locked up on me, nor has it ever scrambled a flash card as others have written about in their reviews. It's been the one digital I could usually count on for a good shot.

With the 5 megapixel cameras out, I plan to keep the Kodak as a backup camera, but move onto the new Sony DSC-F707 with low light and night shot capability. I also have a Toshiba PDR-M21 which is OK for point and shoot occasions but not for serious work.

Problems: None.

Opinion: I love this camera. Love the features .. though have never found a good use for the sound record. In low light the colours can be somewhat dull but normally takes a crisp clear and colourful photo. Have the Lens kit .. is a pain to fit and you need to use the viewfinder but has opened up some sensational opportunities especially closeups. I have dropped the camera several times and feared the worst but each time she fires up again. Would love to upgrade to a DC 290. You tend to get far more photo's than the CF card initially indicates eg 30MB card indicates 50 ad generally will get 65 if I fill the card.

Problems: When batteries are low some pictures are lost or scrambled. Slow fire up time .. the shot can be lost before the camera is ready. Long process time .. in rapid picture taking you can be waiting for the third or fourth picture to process before it will take the next.
