Opinion: NOT RECOMMENDED ! ....

I've been using LS755 for 4 months and agree with almost all Dannyboyster's comments, including PLUS points, but I dont agree with Saab93's opinion that image quality of LS755 was not good. My photos were superb and I have actually had one of these accepted for use in a catalogue. However ....

MINUS POINTS:

* Sturdy metal construction found to be misleading, with lens mounting/housing being very weak, dislodging lens during zoom retraction. Camera is NON-FUNCTIONAL right now.

* Kodak support in Australia has almost disappeared overnight.

* Battery drag, though it is holding charge better now than first few re-charges. Could be better.

* While xD cards are expensive, price has dropped dramatically in recent months, and their size is so tiny which is a PLUS.

ADDENDUM: August 05

Despite my negative comments above, Kodak have been absolutely brilliant in my warranty claim. My toll free call was answered by their USA helpline, with no delay and no crap background music, and the service was friendly and helpful. I was advised where to send my camera for repair in Australia. A week later Kodak phoned me to advise camera unable to be repaired and was being replaced with the new V550, which I am very very impressed with. This camera was delivered to me next day via overnight courier service, complete with SD card to the value of my xD card. New camera has much better features and lots of improvements on LS755 .. see my comments under Kodak V550.

Problems: * See above MINUS points

Opinion: When I went to the shop (4 months ago) I was in doubt: the Sony P-200 or something else? The guy in the shop then recommended me the Kodak LS 755. This camera was 50 euro cheaper than the Sony and, according to the vendor, better in performance. So I bought the Kodak.
I really regret this decision. The Kodak LS 755 is definitely not worth the money (I paid 299 euro). The pictures are not really sharp, it does not have a viewfinder, if it gets a bit dark the camera is not able to autofocus anymore, the battery is shit, the software you get with the camera is crap and if you dare subscribe to the Kodak site they start spamming you!!
I went back to the shop and told the guy my opinion. Too late off course.
I really regret not buying the Sony, because my friend bought it one week later and the quality is a lot better. You can see it immediately.
One good advice: leave the Kodak LS 755 in the shop.

Opinion: bought the display modem from Dixon's, the lens was not coming out properly.
Sent it to Kodak for repair, they refused to fix it for free.
