Opinion: Quality is better than 35 mm film
Problems: None
Opinion: There is no substitute for pixels! I'm a tinkerer, I love to use Photoshop to tweak and play with images. I love gadgets and technology, even this 5 year old camera is incredible. For wide angle panoramic pictures this camera really shines, the detail is amazing. The color isn't the best but since I love to 'shop, it doesn't matter the information is there. Kodak's fire sale made this a serious bargain! Don't mess with this camera if you point and shoot.
Problems: Batteries are not what one would expct. They run down fast when they sit. They work best when you charge them immediately before you use them.
Opinion: Bought one. Haven't used it yet do to computer problems. It is big but comfortable to hold.
Problems: You can't use it like a D1 where you just copy the file from your pc card. You HAVE to acquire it from your PC using twain. Can't find drivers for this camera on the Kodak site for Windows 2000 or Windows ME.
Opinion: Been using this for commerical product and people
images......great value......one needs to work to get the best
color.........after processing the raw 12 bit in Quantum
Mechanics Photoshop Plug in......well the results look pretty
good in the blue channel. I use a G3 powerbook for my
preview work.......use a 15foot......4 meter scsi cable linked
right into the laptop. Preview the images in "TESTMODE". I
dont like the pcmica card ......unless I dont want to be linked.to
the laptop. THe camera is somewhat dated.....but what else
is out there as of May of 2001 for less than $6000US.
Problems: Photoshop 6.0 doesnt work right in the acquire module......I
use Photoshop 5 to acquire my images and processing and
retouch in 6. The camera is alittle slow.....but so was using
POLAROIDS and now the results are instant.......no more
drivimg to the E 6 lab at nite.
