Opinion: OK, I'm a Nikon nut, I use Nikon equipment as a Pro Photographer. So of course I'm gonna go out and buy a Nikon point and shoot right...wrong. Well actually I did, but I took it back.
Problems: First thing I noticed when I took the camera out of the box was the Logo...on an angle. I couldn't believe it. A simple thing like the Nikon company logo on the front of the camera wasn't put on straight...it was very noticeable. So I started playing around with the camera...what's this I hear? The buttons used for the zoom function squeaked when I operated them.
I at least spent some time to test it out before I returned it. The image quality wasn't that bad, but it wasn't that good either. I did not like the way it focused on the subject. It was like hit and miss. I could go on more about how I didn't like the camera, but it wouldn't be worth my time typing and your time reading. I'm sorry Nikon, this camera is a miss for me...you really need to take this model back to the drawing board or better yet scratch it all together. I ended up buying a Casio Exilim EX-S500. It blows the Nikon away in every category. But I still think Nikon pro cameras are the best.
Opinion: The one good thing is that it is thin.
Problems: Yellow indoor photo.
Poor in funcions
Opinion: I have been useing this camera on my round the wourld trip. So the pictures i take are of great varioty and i have to say im getting great pictures. I bought this camera to replace a Sony DSC-P10 which is a fairly good camera but to slow and bulky compared to the Nikon S3. And then there was the good pricetag on the Nikon, cheeper then the simular competitors (SD 550/Ixus 750, Sony DSC-T5, Sony DSC-T7). Im happy ;)
Problems: Not yet :)
Opinion: I only agree with Roadcruiser review. I buy this camera because it using Nikkor Lens, i try to compare with sony-T33, canon s45 or canon ixus but almost picture itake using Nikon create blur image, but if you have steady hand stick on S3 because it create image the most bight if i compare with sony t33, canon s45 and ixus. I sell s3 and change to Sony T9, for image bright still nikon S3 is better, but i think T9 much better because almost no blur image anymore. Hope Nikon could make new firmware to reduce that blur problem.
Problems: Too much blur image, this camera can't actualy focus on object. Good quality picture if you take on high light or your hand is steady. Only can reduce blur if using flash.
