Opinion: Keep away from this camera. It is of very poor quality. It only last for 6 months. I hate NIKON's camera!!
Opinion: KEEP AWAY FROM NIKON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I bought the Nikon S4000 camera six months ago with a one-year warranty. It was malfunctioning two weeks ago. When I sent it to the Nikon repair service, they said the item was not covered by the warranty. I argued with them couple of times and they still insist the warranty does not cover the damage. At the end I needed to pay about $100 for the repair and shipping fee.
I has been SO disappointed with Nikon's quality. I have another camera made by Panasonic that I bought 7 years ago and still function perfectly. And this Nikon one only last 6 months. 7 YEARS VS. 6 MONTHS. You do the math.
I will never never buy Nikon's product. KEEP AWAY FROM NIKON'S CAMERAS!!!!!!!!!!
Problems: Nikon's camera can only last for 6 months. And, if you need to send it for repair they will tell you the repair item is not covered by the warranty.

Opinion: Nice and compact. Fits in my pocket. Touch screen is a nice. Start up is nice and it has stereo audio when recording. You can also zoom in record mode.
Problems: Macro is only 8cm, about 3 inches, not very close for a macro.
The 720 record mode only lets you record up to 12min. 33 sec. no matter how large the SD card.
