Opinion: Have had the camera for a few days now after upgrading for the (Wonderfully amazing C-4000) and the (slightly dissapointing) C-750. So far I am extremely impressed by the features offered by this camera, easy to use fully automatic but has a great variety of manual features that are very easy use (often with a scroll wheel that was a great additon). The manual focus even works really well, has a great autofocus assist lamp, quick on, quick focus, little downtime between pictures even taking SHQ. I have yet to take some night photos and hope that it will handle that like it has everything else! Also has a GREAT macro (which was one thing I loved about the C-4000), and the 27mm (in 35mm film equliv) is super wide for digicams, I am looking forward to adding on the wide and tele lens to add to this great package! email me at matt510@u.washington.edu if you have an questions about features!

Problems: Not really a problem, but it has dual memory card options, which is great, but after having the C-4000 I have a ton of SM cards which are completly no use to me, but the CF cards are nice cause they are cheap and the xD card is great cause it is fast. Also, I am not a big fan of proprietary batteries cause they cost so much, I like my rechargeable AA batteries, but oh well, small price to pay... Takes a while to get used to the menu structure and to find all the options you want, but again, there are so many features it would be hard to make it easy to find them all in one place. They have added buttons to make quick access to a lot of the features easier so that was a good improvement.

Opinion: I have been involved in photography for many years with film cameras. This is my first digital camera, so my evaluation must be viewed in that light, especially in the value for money department since I am lacking comparative digital experience. My film work has utilized Nikon, Contax with Zeiss lenses and a Leica Minilux.

My first impression of the C5060 is that I am dazzled by its results. The camera has many features including a wide angle zoom, macro and supermacro. A few days of working with the menu and button system leads to a conclusion that the design is excellent and user friendly.

Construction doesn't seem to match high quality 35mm cameras, thus keeping me from giving it a "5", but an advantage is found in this camera's relatively light weight. However, at the rate which technology is advancing in the digital arena, perhaps all current digital cameras should be considered "disposable" because advances will demand replacement in at most a few years. For this reason, construction is probably moot.

Initial results with images are beyond my expectations. In a nutshell, this camera rivals anything I have been able to produce with my upper end 35mm cameras. It produces excellent portraits, landscapes and everything in between that I have pointed it at. I printed an 8x10 directly from the xD card using my hp 7960 printer and it is as sharp as anything I have seen short of a medium format camera.

Dual memory card capability is a real plus. It makes it possible to fill a card and while it is removed for copying in one of the many devices currently available, one can keep shooting with the other card. This is a valuable feature for projects like weddings which don't stop for the convenience of the photographer.

Problems: The Olympus Camedia software seems to have limnited flexibility and function.

The panorama mode only works with the Olympus brand xD cards. I don't think much of this arm twisting marketing and think that Olympus has given their reputation a bigger black eye than they realize by this approach.

Opinion: Had this camera for a week now and just loved it from the moment I helt it ...So egronomically produced also feeling like they made this just for me!

The wide angle lens was the point breaker in obtaining this and there are only 2 out there with wide angle which is Nikon 5400 and this . Since this is later released I did hope and did get more advanced electronics which is what digital photography is all about plus has to fit loke gloves in your hands and the Nikon just didnt fit quite well as it was not as high as the Olympus .

With 3 fingers holding firmly the pointing finger well placed at the perfect angle to the zoom and the button , the thumb just perfectly wrapped at perfect alignment with the wheel to select the options in the mode and the rest of other selectors placed all in the left and around is very logically thought ...

The most important is that the camera is very sponteneous and very effective at taking pictures under sponteneous situations ...the lens were very active and fast ...as for the grains sure has some only if one uses too high the ISO ...there are always soulutions to avoid those its just to discover as one has to remember this is electronics that means it needs electronic solution...

There is no perfect CCD out there and as these cameras is´nt possible to change lens its just to get few cameras of various models to suit different purposes ...I love this one and use it for many occasion ...Its not a tiny camera but can get into coat pocket easily as the thickness is only 66cm...

I have used HP618 , HP912 , Olympus C2100, C 700, C4000, Nikon 3500, 4500 , Canon V2, Powershot S30 .. Still own most of them and now this new Olympus C5060 has´nt disspointed me yet...

It has its strength and weakness just like every other digital cameras...I give it a high score for the egronomic design and as for image quality just use well balanced input of sharpness, iso and F/stop and the grains are is not a problem any more...

Problems: Havent encountered anything out of the norm .
