Opinion: I've been using this camera for 5 years. It has great
features and produces excellent quality images. I opted
for this camera at the time because I didn't want to invest
in an SLR but I think I am ready now. At today's prices for
this older model you cannot go wrong.

Problems: Never had any problem.

Opinion: I have owned this camera for three years and right from taking it out of the box have been very pleased with the results. OK so I do fiddle with them using Phoimpact to get them even better but I would buy the same camera again especially if the LCD was bigger (only1.8 inches) to 2.5 inches. Looking to replace and not very impressed with cameras on the market today.

Problems: The Mode Dial problem is well known with this camera and I sent my first one back because of it. The replacement has worked for 2/3 years but has develped the same fault!

Opinion: One of the great small cameras. I purchased the C-5060 for those times when I
didn't want to haul my Canon DSLR and assortment of lenses. I selected the
Olympus on the basis of its zoom range, availability of RAW and TIFF shooting
modes, availability of accessory lenses and power grip, etc. In other words, the
camera has many of the qualities and capabilities of much larger cameras.

I was surprised and amazed at the sharpness and true color of the first set of
pictures I printed. I was also surprised to discover that I could print as large as 11" X
14" without serious losses in picture quality and up to 13" X 19", still with excellent
detail. The camera consistently delivers great pictures.

I've owned the Olympus for nearly a year, and I'm still learning how to use it. Make
no mistake, this camera has an abundance of features and capabilities that need to
be discovered and utilized over time. Beyond point-and-shoot mode, there's a steep
learning curve, but one well-worth taking.

This is no longer an easy camera to find. If you can find one in excellent condition at
a good price, grab it. It's often available refurbished from Olympus and other
sources, such as www.refurbdepot.com. Expect to pay upwards of $400-450, which
may seem like a lot for an older 5MP camera...and there very well may be newer
cameras that appear to match or exceed it in picture performance, but few...if
any...will match it in the kinds of features that really lead to better pics with higher
levels of detail, ie: RAW, TIFF, AEL, reliable metering, etc.

Problems: None so far.

Opinion: Over all a great little camera with many big camera features. The WB predefined WB settings are very good and cover almost the entire range of lighting conditions where I typically shoot. The auto WB is very, very good for the majority of my needs. However, higher ASA equivalent settings are prone to higher digital noise when making night time exposures. While I cant really call this a problem, I have noted that auto focus is very slow in very dim to dark conditions, even with the focus assist light. The long focusing delay has caused me to miss many shots in dim lighting as a result. The built-in flash is fairly good for most casual shooting and for use as a fill flash. For more serious I recommend using an external, higher powered flash unit. While the mating flash bracket is small and convenient, I personally prefer using a larger flash bracket (I prefer the Stroboframe line of brackets) as this keeps the flash centered over the lens when holding the camera either way (portrait or landscape) and allows me to position the flash high enough to eliminate nearly all of the resulting flash shadows. As much as I like this camera, I will probably be upgrading to a full featured DSLR as it will allow more seamless integration with my normal 35mm and medium format equipment.

Problems: The only problem I have experienced is the same as what several others have reported with the camera behaving erratically (i.e., menu items appearing and cycling, focus light activating for no reason, function buttons not responding or activating the wrong function, and etc.). My first camera experienced this problem right out of the box and the replacement camera began to exhibit the same problem approximately 1 year later.

Very good camera. I was usung a Canon point-shoot before, so different..I hink Olympus can do dial mode more strmg for hard use.

Opinion: Overall a very nice camera but I previously owned a C-2100 Ultra Zoom and I must say, the C-5060 falls short of my expectations. I knew I was giving up zoom range but I feel I also lost a significant amount of range with pictures utilizing the flash. And getting the camera to either focus or meter in lower light conditions can be a challenge. The camera has a nice feel and is compact, which was not something the C-2100 could claim. I actually purchased the camera without actually seeing one in a store. For some reason, this model wasn't carried by any of the main stores - only through online ordering. Because of this, what I didn't realize about the C-5060 was that the optical viewfinder was not like the C-2100, which had a digital display. I found using the camera in this manner instead of looking at the LCD screen on back much easier and like that I could look through the view-finder and see all of the camera settings. I was also disappointed in the seemingly slower processing. If you're taking portraits, this isn't a problem but trying to capture just the right moment I've found is quite aggravating with this camera. What you see when you think you've taken the picture is completely different when you view it. Given the choice I would not recommend this camera unless you're mainly looking at taking pictures of wide landscape views in well lighted situations.

Problems: Unfortunately yes, especially since we're already disappointed in the camera's performance. Only after having the camera about 7 months, we're experiencing certain functions being activated without pressing a button. First discovered this problem when I was trying to delete a picture I was viewing and the Delete button wasn't functioning. At same time, realized the down and left arrow buttons were also not working. Further trial & error I've discovered the problem apparently originates with the Mode Selector Dial. Slight pressure on the side of the dial, less than what takes to turn the dial, causes irratic operation of the camera, such as the AEL (automatic exposer lock) function to activate without pressing the button and other buttons not working. During this condition, certain parts of the main menu cannot be accessed.
