Opinion: Just had a spin on an E400 and its amazing how a little camera like this, can be handled nicely as it is.I prefer the handling of the E 400 over the E 500.Feels solid enough - I wonder if not more solid than the E 500.I own several analogue Nikons - F2,FM2 and F501- as well as an Olympus OM1, and on the digitals,I own a Canon powershot S80 and two Sony's-S85 and F717. That said, I confess that I am a believer of the 4/3 Olympus system, in a way that I am awaiting the successor of the E1 .I offered my youngest son an E 500. These Olympus cameras, combined with the Pro or Top Pro Zuiko lenses could be great photographic tools. And on top of that, is the fact that probably and as far as I know, the Leica 3/4 lenses could also be attached to Olympus cameras, besides the Panasonics and future (???)Leicas.Sigma is making also nice "glasses" for the 3/4 systems, so....!!!.The 4/3 system is growing and growing...!!!
Problems: Just had a spin on it.
Opinion: W sumie sie rozczarowalem tym aparatem. Przede wszystkim menu nie jest jak pisza - intuicyjne. Te duze napisy obecne ciagle na ekranie rozpraszaja. Ostrosc jako taka, szumy jednak sa dosc duze, a obiektywy, no coz owiane zbyt duza legenda.
Problems: Menu - do bani.
Szumy sa duze.
Opinion: I was thinking to buy another 3/4 cam, very much expensive. I try both and finally bought E400, in first place because i feel it very confortable in my hands. When I tried the cam I surpriced miself, this cam is able to beat in image quality some cams double priced than this.
Opinion: This is my first DSLR camera, i didn't do some serious shooting yet, but I can tell the image quality is good. It's a quite fast camera too: autofocus locks on very quickly. Browsing through pictures goes fast too.
The build-in orientation sensor is a cool feature too... no matter how the picture is taken or how the camera is held when viewing pictures, the image is always shown upright.
The double zoom kit comes with some fine lenses.
Problems: * The internal flash is a bit weak, its power needs to be adjusted by a around +1.0 EV for proper exposure.
* Some dark vertical lines tend to appear in dark area's when shooting at higher ISOs. This is independent from exposure times. I've seen this in pictures from other E-400's too, so I think it's not limited to my camera only.
