The Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ35/FZ38 super-zoom is amongst the first to feature AVCHD lite format HD video recording. Successor to the DMC-FZ28, it features an 18x optical zoom lens (27- 486mm equiv.), Power O.I.S image stabilizer and a faster Venus Engine HD processor. The 12.1 MP camera also features a Quick AF system that claims to be two times faster than that of the DMC-FZ28.

Opinion: OK camera. It is easy to use and gives OK results.

Problems: The one thing I do not like in all these small cameras is the power zoom. Makes it hard to do quick framing of the subject. Also a lot more noise in low light than the FZ28. I will keep my FZ28 and sell the FZ35 on eBay.

Opinion: I am very satisfy.
I test a lot of bridge camera this autumn and the FZ35 is the winner for me.
The colors are splendid out of the camera.
The video 720p is very good. I can edit easily AVCHD Lite with Sony Vegas Platinum 9.
I recommand this camera.

Opinion: I am a long time user of Pana DMC-FZ xx. I went from my previous FZ18 to the FZ 38
(FZ35 in the US) because of the excellent focus speed. And it really is fast ! BUT : the
time for memorizing a simple 3 MB jpg on a fast card (15MB/sec) is incredibly long : 2
seconds, the double of the FZ18 ! So, most of the advantage gained in focusing is lost
at writing... It is a nonsense.

Problems: RAW software suplied with the camera is not the best , There are several other better softwares availabel in teh market .
