Opinion: Purchased camera in Feb/2005. after using the camera for 4 months I am extremely happy with the camera. I continually to use features I didn't know existed. The only thing that I am displeased with is that fact the owners manual does not explain all the features clearly.

Opinion: Best value for money. It feels like a little DV
(640x480 MPEG-4 with sound and no time-limit)
, but with powerful features of 4MP digital camera.
Also, easy to use (almost no need to read manual).
Problems: It's a tiny and elegant camera, so some parts seem to be fragile.
Opinion: While this wasn't my dream camera (that would be the Panasonic FZ20) this camera has sufficient features and was about $100-$150 less than most cameras I found with similar features. The supermacro alone is worth the $459 Canadian I paid for this camera; stick your finger directly on the lens, and you will still get a perfectly sharp fingerprint! In addition to that, you get 10X optical zoom, 4MP, preset and manual white balance, programed and manual aperture, shutterspeed and focusing, auto-bracketing, continuous shooting, 6 colour filters, and the unlimited video mode with sound. Also, the pop-up flash raises further away from the body than on most digicams, an extra help in reducing red-eye.
I find the construction of this camera to be great. The battery compartment has a little latch that holds the battery down while you close the compartment door, reducing stress on the door itself, and the camera is designed more like a video camera, so that the lens is contained inside the body throughout the entire zoom range, so it's not wiggling and jiggling around while extended.
I found it quite easy to figure out most of the controls without using the manual, however, some of the control buttons are quite small, which, although not a problem for my small hands, is something most people may want to consider.
Problems: The only real complaint I have about this camera is the long shutter lag time, and the narrow aperture and shutterspeed ranges. For sport/action photography, and long available-light exposures, I'm afraid I have to stick with my ME-Super film SLR. It could also do with an image stabilizer, but for the price, I don't mind carrying around my tripod.
Opinion: In all fairness, I only had this camera about a day before I decided to return it. My quick decision was due to the fact that I had previously been spoiled by both a Panasonic FZ10 and FZ20. The camera is definitely packed with features for a fairly decent price. Image quality was decent, though not great. The 10x optical zoom is a nice feature, though the camera could use some kind of image stabilization. It is good for someone that wants a little more bang for their buck without shelling out too much cash.
Problems: Main reaons for my quick turnaround:
Slow focusing in low...not dim...light. The Panasonics were also a bit slow, but this one was slower.
Slow-ish image write time. Again, I'm probably just being picky based on my experience with the Panasonics.
Awkward trigger/zoom conrols. Probably could master with a little more practice.
Manual zoom is slow. Camera features quick zoom settings, though.
Opinion: Took this camera on a 1-week business trip to Mexico. It functioned exactly like the Owner's Manual indicated. Image quality was excellent, with good color rendition, little noise at ISO100 setting. Controls were intuitive. Features such as WB control functioned well. I have much more expensive cameras with greater mp that do not offer the ease of use or picture quality that this camera does. Highly recommend - especially for the price!
Problems: Would have liked an in-camera charging capability. However the Charger included does a respectable job in a short period of time. I also would have liked the capability to use the charger as an AC power source when downloading or showing on TV or Computer.
Opinion: Overall a nice digi-cam.
