Opinion: Other Digicams forum refers.

Problems: I fail to understand how a company such as RICOH can put their name (and reputation) at stake by producing such a disappointing camera. The product has been barely launched and already people are talking about a firmware upgrade. ACCORDING TO THE SPECIFICATIONS PROVIDED, THIS CAMERA OFFERED ENORMOUS POTENTIAL. I for one, had placed an order and luckily was still able to cancel it. Based on the results so far, it would have been an utter waste of money. RICOH, I'd like to offer you a tip..... get your products in order..... your reputation is at stake!!

RICOH it's a shame to offer such an inferior quality product!

Opinion: I guess it's all relevant to the needs of everyone. For me, R3 satisfied most of my need since I was looking for an ultra compact point and shoot dc with long zoom range. it also has a few add-on functions which are not available on other dc. It has an exceptional Macro functionality as well. This is probably not a simple P&S dc, but by getting use to it and you can make some adjustment and you will get a nice shot and never missed any shot that you might regret.

* After updating the firmware 1.28, it makes big differences than the first time I got it.

Problems: A little problem when taking indoor shots with low light.

Opinion: Very Fast, Versatile and Handy little camera. Great for Point and Shoot. Great for Macros. Only downside is slightly noisy photos. If not enlarging or creating prints greater than 8R should be OK. I'm using this camera for snapshots, travel and my blog.
