Opinion: Well just bought this camera in UK as a present from money for my retirement.
Not used it much but for those of you in the club:
1. Lightweight indeed
2. Holds well with grip
3. Powerful zoom but slow initially to react on opening and contraction.
4. Raw mode only in User settings
5. Easy accessible menu system
6. Dual image stabilisation-works well
7. ISO upto 6400 but useless until you get down to 400.
8. Very good autointelligent mode
9. Nice face detection modes
10. Exposure needs decreasing to -0.3 atleast.
11. Definitely need tripod at 24x zoom-more shaky than my Canon SX20IS.
12. Great LCD 3 inch screen
13. Nice EVF
14. Useful AF modes especially tracking mode.
15. Video Ok 720
16. Selection of good scene modes (similar to Sony)
17. Has P, A-S and M modes
18. Long delay after pressing shutter button-similar in other bridge zooms like Olympus models. Canon SX20IS faster response.
19. Even in outdoors if weather is dull it always asks you to use the flash when its uneccessary and blocks the screen and EVF from view. If you raise the flash you then get dark pictures but pictures are fine when you dont use the damn flash.
20. Cannot see any PF/CA as yet but will give it another try later. Canon SX20IS give some degree of CA/PF-discouraging for me
Opinion: Very good build quality and plenty of options.
Good grip, to hold the camera.
Pict. quality is dissapointing - esp. indoor.
