Opinion: I bought one of these in Japan having had two of the previous
versions and think the camera is very nice. Nice to finally have an
optical zoom although this slows down the 'point and click' feature I
previously enjoyed. Pictures are vivid and easy to vary in resolution. I
have not had the problems with having to change the date with
battery change that others have had.
With the one gig microdrive, this is a great camera...... Shame they
don't market it more here in the U.S.

Opinion: Even interpolated to 2880x....., still can provide SHARP image.

Problems: 1) hungry for batteries...hm.....it's true. Make sure that the batteries are fully recharged before use.
2) "Date" need to be reset everytime after changing batteries, quite annoying.
