Opinion: Recently i got a chance to my hands on one ofmy friends s730 .. but results were not as expected.. altough the camera luks kewl and is priced competitively .. image quality is not that goood.. instead i wud suggest Cannon Power shot a550 which is far better and and cost lesser.

Problems: Images seems to blur or hazzy under flash ... here is links of the pics which took from this poor cam :

Opinion: I think the S730 does a decent job overall, especially considering its low price (€ 95)
I took many photos of all kind of different situations in bright daylight, with many photos looking bright and colourful (there where also some bad looking photos too,see problems) Macro is also above average.
There are plenty of settings in P mode, with the same settings to choose from as the higher-end Cybershots, except Smile Shutter & Face detection.
LCD screen is large and useful in bright daylight, although not very accurate in reproducing your subject's colours.
Battery life is very good.
Build quality is good.
Very easy to use.
Recommended for snapshooting at the beach and macro photography, and the low price.

Problems: There are no real problems with the camera itself, it's a Sony product, and it acts like a Sony product: reliable.
Although the camera is capable of producing good looking pictures, there are also problems, like a too agressive noise reduction, visible in lower light conditions, even @ iso 100, taking away detail. Also, the high sensitivity modes are completely useless.
There is also shutter lag, and flash photography has ups and downs.
There is no Image Stabilization.
