One of a pair of near identical twins (the other being the DSC-T900), the DSC-T90 has the usual T series attributes; ultra slim styling, sliding lens cover and simple point-and-shoot operation. The 12 megapixel sensor can also deliver 720p HD movies (MPEG4 format) and Sony's latest intelligent automatic systems. The whole thing is finished off with a large 3.0" screen and useful 35-140mm (equiv.) 5x zoom with optical image stabilization. The T-900 adds a larger, much higher resolution screen. April 2009

Opinion: I recently read a blog where someone asked, "What is the best 'street' camera?
I think there are excellent arguments why this is it.
In is very portable, about half an inch thick, unobtrusive (especiially in black), has excellent internal software, an excellent LCD screen, a built in lens cover (so you can just stick it in your pocket, very fast ready time, very good low light performance and you can operate it with one hand. In summary, you can always have it with you, and can shoot pictures anywhere.
For photojournalism, or recording street scenes, it cannot be beat.
Opinion: Very good color rendition, Image quality good not great. Grainy after Iso 400. Menu system a bit confusing till you get used to it after using it awhile. Not very intuitive. Portability is great!! Small and pocketable, always ready to use!
Problems: None
Opinion: I bought it and have seen everybody elses on Youtube and it was exellent but we are having a bit of troublee with ours..
Problems: video choppy.. and poor and Pics less than my canons..
gonna research more on this camera and get back to you.
Opinion: I bought this camera as a replacement for a Sony DSC-T30. This was on the 20th May
2009. Well I am very dissapointed in this camera it is not a patch on the old camera,
my wife uses the DSC-T30 and will not go for the DSC-T90. I have been back to SONY
but they shrug thier shoulders.
Problems: The Photographs produced are not so good, being on the darkside under exposed.
The anti-shake does not appear to be so forgiving. Photographs are blurred.
The camera does not react as fast as I believe it should do.
The photographs are terrible, under exposed or out of focus.
ADDED I have returned camera to Sony who after looking at & testing have stated that
the camera is within the specification they have set. VERY POOR SHOW Last Sony
goods I buy
