Opinion: Convenient to use. Panorama is cool, but not very useful in reality.
Image quality poor...appears to have 3MP resolution instead of 10 MP.
Easy to use.
Problems: Image quality poor in most conditions other than bright sunlight. Had 5 mp DSC-F707 prior to this camera and this camera can't even come close to image quality of that 5MP unit. Only had this for 6 months, but am already looking for a replacement.
Construction appears solid, however, found multiple display models that had the lens cover bent from mishandling / abuse. Have been careful in handling to avoid similar issues with ours.
Opinion: This is well made camera but for me the results are poor. This is a point a shoot camera that so far has produced nothing but fuzzy or blurred pictures. My previous camera had a much lower spec yet produced much sharper pictures in less than optimal conditions.
The video is quite good but is no compensation for the blurred pictures
The twilight pictures only work well on a tripod but for a point and shoot your not going to carry one of those around with you.
The Sony case I purchased was over priced and the magnetic clasp trips the cameras front sliding door sensor and switches the camera on and off coursing the battery to run flat. This is my first and last Sony camera. I will persist with it in case I am doing something wrong like rely too much on it intelligent features but otherwise this camera along with its party shot base are heading for the bay.
Problems: fuzzy or blured pictures. Poor results as a point and shoot.
Opinion: Out of the Box and without the manual, Anyone can shoot perfectly exposed in
focus photographs. Those seeking Features, there are plenty and easy to access on
the fly. The iMode is utterly impressive and will surely please many budding point
and shoot shutter bugs. This is a True, slip in the pocket camera and at last a
Touch Screen made of hardened glass with a very unique and handy iPhone /
iTough 'page' through review feature. And those that Sell on eBay, No More
Excuses that the Fussy out of Focus Long Shot photographs is Not Your Fault! The
Sony DSC-TX1 Macro Close Up can't be Beat! And almost as Good as all the
Features, the price is not out of this world! So, before this Best Kept Secret gets
out... better grab one!
Problems: I've shot over a 1000 photographs at all settings and have yet to run across an issue
worth complaining or advising of.
