Toshiba PDR-M5

Opinion: This is my third digi cam and I'm in the market for a new one. This camera takes good pictures in bright light, i.e outdoors. It has poor low light performance. Typically it has a hard time focusing, and most of the pictures end up blurry. Even on overcast days is seems to have a hard time.
I've updated the bios twice which was supposed to resolve this, but it only helped a little.

Opinion: I paid $250 for the camera @ Ubid.

The camera is Excellent and Horrible.
In low light you just can't use the camera, but in outdoor its magnificent.

Bought acessories(lenses, adaptors, tripods) i like the camera but hoped the low light thing would be fixed.
Well for $250 it ain't bad.

Opinion: I've had this camera for over 1 year now and I have found it to be quite a disappointment. It does not, and is not, capable of taking pictures in low light situations. It does not have spot metering either. The only good point about this camera is its rapid turnover time from shot to shot. The battery life is also very poor (~1-1.5 hrs max with some lcd use). I would not recomment this camera to anyone who plans to take any pictures in the evening time.

Opinion: I bright light, the camera functions extremely well - very crisp and colorful images. In low light conditions [even after the firmware upgrade] the pictures are sub-par - the camera will not focus, and pictures therefore come out very grainy, and out of focus. Haven't really toyed with the manual settings to see if this can be resolved.

Opinion: This has been a good camera for me but the problems with the slow first shot and poor low light pictures are definitely a drawback. I downloaded the firmware upgrade and that made a huge difference - low light and indoor pictures are much better now. Overall, good camera for those wishing to snap casual photos.

Opinion: I have had this camera for over 1 year now. Basciallyl its got all the features I looked for but I am unhappy with a couple of things. It does take very good pics for the most part.

Opinion: Basically a good camera. But there are some problems. I like that it feels like a "regular" camera. Have no problems using features of camera.

Opinion: I love my PDR-M5. I do mostly outdoor photography, and most of that with the macro setting. I get some excellent quality photos. The color is super. I especially like the rechargable battery, which is very light. Compared to my old Olympus 320, It is far lighter and easier to carry.
