The HP 935 provides two image size options (2608 x 1952
and 1296 x 976) and three levels of JPEG compression which are indicated
by a number of stars (where three stars is least compression best quality,
one star is most compression lowest quality). Note that the 935 doesn't
have a TIFF or RAW uncompressed option.
To give an impression of what some of the combinations
of image size and quality produce the table below is a cross reference

As we noted with the advent of the HP 850 it appears as
though HP have worked to address some of the compression and artifact
problems which we noted in our HP 812 review. At the
setting there are almost no visible artifacts and only a few appear at
the higher compression
mode. That said I do feel that HP can improve further, certainly their
down-sampling interpolation algorithm could do with a little work (1296
x 976 images can look a bit jagged).
Image Parameters
The 935 provides decent control of contrast, saturation
and sharpness, although only plus or minus one level. These settings can
be combined and if not normal (the middle setting) are indicated on the
live view by an icon. Unlike some other settings these are memorized at
power off.
