JPEG compression modes
Here are four samples of
the same subject each shot a differing JPEG compression's
from the worst (Good) to the best (Super). There's VERY
LITTLE difference in quality between Better, Best and
Super.

Here's a 200%
blowup of the same detail from the image at each different
compression quality.

Another request from many
users has been the inclusion of shots taken at differing
resolutions, so here again is the same shot taken at each
of the three resolutions available on the camera (all
at Best quality).

Digita
I could talk for hours
about Digita. It's a great idea, excellently executed.
The CPU on the DC265 is obviously faster than the DC260
and Minolta Dimage EX1500 and this helps Digita greatly..
Unfortunately I fear that
this excellent feature is also the Achilles heel of the
camera, it suffers from similar "live screen"
LCD update problems that the EX1500 and DC260 do, I hope
that future versions of cameras using Digita will choose
a hardware path for the preview image.
I look forward to newer,
faster and more flexible versions of this imaging operating
system and I hope that other manufacturers can see the
value of allowing camera owners to be able to either write
their own extensions or download scripts written by others.
